For the second edition of INTERRUPCIÓN this year, we have invited the four-armed post-cumbia master Julián Mayorga. Having just released one of his most psychedelic records, the South American witchdoctor is now bringing his otherworldly rituals to WORM.

He will be joined by The Ensemble of Cultural Approximation (TECA), who will make their debut in our venue. A new Amsterrotterdam group who dedicate their minds to the sound of shroombia!

Inbetween the two live acts, the Dooombieros will spin their favourite cumbia records, while warrior-poet Doctor Dooombia will be your host. This is going to be a night filled with surprises!

Para la segunda edición de INTERRUPCIÓN este año, hemos invitado al maestro de la post-cumbia, Julián Mayorga. Tras lanzar uno de sus discos más psicodélicos, el brujo sudamericano trae sus rituales de otro mundo a WORM.

Le acompañará The Ensemble of Cultural Approximation (TECA), que debutará en nuestra sala. ¡Un nuevo grupo de Ámsterróterdam dedicado al sonido de la shroombia!

Entre los dos actos, los Dooombieros pincharán sus discos favoritos de cumbia, mientras que el poeta guerrero Doctor Dooombia será el anfitrión. ¡Será una noche llena de sorpresas!

EN | Avant-garde Colombian singer-songwriter Julián Mayorga comes to Rotterdam! Hot on the heels of his ninth album, Chak Chak Chak Chak, which is a clattering and absurdist slice of post-cumbia psychedelia. A feverish mix of angular electric guitars, circuit-bent beats, found percussion and rapid-fire incantations, with influences that include Tom Zé, Tom Waits and Captain Beefheart. Frenetic energy meets satirical wit. Surrealist fables entwined with defiant sonics. On top of that, Spanish artist Marta Orozco, who also doubles as Julian’s partner at Poetas Menores, will provide live visuals to this AV show.

Pisándole los talones a su noveno álbum, Chak Chak Chak Chak, que es una porción estruendosa y absurda de psicodelia post-cumbia. Una mezcla febril de guitarras eléctricas angulares, ritmos circuit-bent, percusión encontrada y encantamientos de fuego rápido, con influencias que incluyen a Tom Zé, Tom Waits y Captain Beefheart. La energía frenética se encuentra con el ingenio satírico. Fábulas surrealistas entrelazadas con sonidos desafiantes. Además de eso, la artista española Marta Orozco, quien también es socia de Julián en Poetas Menores, proporcionará visuales en vivo a este espectáculo.

EN | TECA is new on the block, taking their inspiration from cumbia music. If life’s been dull lately, just take an intercity direct between Rotterdam and Amsterdam, where in the fun wagon you can put a 3 euro coin in a whimsical jukebox. It will transport you in a blink of an eye to a state of temperature rising well above 25 degrees celsius, ouzo oozing through your veins and your feet approximately grooving, while your friend is synchronizing their hips to yours. HOT! TECA isn’t just a band. It’s a vibe. It’s a minibar!

Si la vida ha sido aburrida últimamente, simplemente toma un intercity directo entre Róterdam y Ámsterdam, donde en el vagón divertido puedes poner una moneda de 3 euros en un jukebox extravagante. Te transportará en un abrir y cerrar de ojos a un estado de temperatura que supera los 25 grados centígrados, güaro rezumando por tus venas y tus pies aproximadamente bailando, mientras tu amigo sincroniza sus caderas con las tuyas. ¡CALIENTE! TECA no es solo una banda. Es una vibra. ¡Es un minibar!
